Orientation / Welcome Events
Playdates for Incoming Families
Come play at Miraloma Playground, affectionately called “Sandy Park”. This is a great opportunity to meet other incoming families. We’ll provide bagels and coffee:
- Saturday August 13, 11am-1pm
Orientation
Orientation is scheduled in for August 12 at 2pm. The families will meet in the auditorium, where the teachers will give a 20 minute preview of kindergarten procures, tips and expectations for the first weeks of school. You will then have an opportunity to preview their new classroom and from there, you will congregate in the cafeteria to mingle and socialize with other families.
Teacher Assignments
Teacher assignments will be e-mailed on Thursday August 11.

To save paper and volunteer hours, Miraloma strives to do most of the school communication electronically. Our weekly newsletter is sent to you by email every Wednesday.
Updates from the Welcome Committee, class assignments, special announcements and letters from our principal are also sent to this newsletter list.

Apart from the official announcements through the newsletter list, we have a great community building tool available for all to post questions and exchange information: the Miraloma ListServ (Yahoo! Group). To join, send a blank e-mail to MiralomaSchool-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

In preparation of starting school at Miraloma you can start with the following:
- Join the grade-wide ListServ for the 'Class of 1017' - this group of parents will be with you for the next 6 years!
- Open a Paypal account - safe & free way to pay online, saving paper and countless volunteer hours
- Set Up an escrip account - while doing your regular (online or at the store) shopping, you earn money for the school
