In order for us to meet our fundraising goal of $60,000, WE NEED YOUR HELP! We ask that each family contribute in any way they can. Here are some of the ways your family can help (for more details, please review the Family Handbook & FAQs):

  1. Solicit all your local and favorite merchants for donations. Please take a look at the Donor Letter and Donor Form. Personalizing the letter adds a nice touch. Gift certificates, event tickets, travel accommodations or goods and services make for stellar auction items.

    Here are links to (i) Businesses the Auction Committee has Solicited to date, (ii) Businesses that have Donated to date, (iii) Business that have said they Will Not Donate to date. Please review these lists to see where you could help with solicitation efforts. Please follow-up with any one on the lists if you have a personal connection or where you could make face-to-face contact. Have an extra Donor Letter, Donor Form and Sponsor/Ad Form at the ready for securing that spontaneous donation or advertisement from your local grocer, hair stylist, or yoga studio. Email Ingrid Alberts at miralomaauction2010@gmail.com if you have any questions about who or how you should solicit for donations.

  2. Solicit businesses to be sponsors or advertisers in our Auction 2010 program. This year we are selling both sponsorship and advertisement opportunities. Sponsors receive a myriad of benefits, including links on our Website, as well as listings on bulletin boards at school and the auction. A business may also choose only to advertise in the program. Think of merchants who would benefit from direct advertising in our community (i.e. local realtors, large firms, pediatric dentists or M.D.s.)

    Check in on this list of businesses who are currently being solicited for sponsorships. If you have any personal connections to any of these businesses, please let Tracey Heather know at miralomaauction2010@gmail.com and she can help you coordinate solicitation.

  3. Think of items and/or services that you could donate to the auction. i.e. vacation homes, products or services through your workplace, hobbies and avocations (photography, knitting, baking, babysitting ,etc.). Hugely successful examples from last year include:
    Four Course Italian Dinner with Wine — delivered!, Baby Sign Language Classes. Cooking Class for Kids, Scrapbooking Party, Cookie of the Month Club, and Bread-making Class. Class Check Miraloma's Own Calendar to plan a date for your event.

  4. Think of parties and outings that you (or your kids) could sponsor as community events. Each year the "Miraloma's Own Sign-up Parties" are one of the biggest moneymakers and most eagerly anticipated community events. These can be structured as fixed-price signup parties (i.e. 20 slots at $40 each) or single auction items (i.e. Party for 10 kids).

    Examples from last year include:
    Party with the Swedes, Scotch Tasting, Soccer Party, A Day of Dungeons and Dragons, Alien Making Party, American Girl Doll Tea Party & Fashion Show, 5-Course Dinner for 10 people by Trained Chefs, Fall Dinner with Wine Pairings, Wine Tasting and Dinner Party, Mom's Day out at Mt. Tam, Back-to-School Countries of the Sun Dinner Party, and Miraloma's Famous Margarita & Mexican Party. Check Miraloma's Own Calendar to plan a date for your event.

  5. Email the Auction Team at miralomaauction2010@gmail.com and say that you want to help. Or, contact Katrin Robb at 415-377-2407 or Gina Ciciarelli at gcicciar@yahoo.com. We are still looking for volunteers — for a full list of Auction Committees and volunteering needs, please see Committees under Auction Forms.

  6. Offer to work on a children's classroom project, or work with a smaller group of kids to create a unique art project to sell.
